background
2025 will be a landmark year for advances in nutrition and health. An important global event is taking place that provides a vital opportunity to accelerate nutrition efforts. The Paris Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit, hosted by the French Government on March 27-28, will build on the momentum of the successful 2021 Tokyo Summit. The World Health Assembly in May will consider the possibility of extending the global nutrition goals to 2030. The United Nations General Assembly in September will mark the final year of this goal. United Nations Decade of Action on Nutrition (2016-2025). The Scale Up Nutrition (SUN) Global Gathering in November will provide an important platform for countries, donors and civil society to agree on investment and coordination in nutrition. These events will shape the global nutrition challenge in 2025 and beyond.
The Paris N4G and SUN Global Gathering will galvanize the efforts of governments, civil society, philanthropic foundations, the private sector, aid agencies and the United Nations to end malnutrition in all its forms. Many of these efforts are focused on accelerating efforts to meet WHA’s global nutrition goals.
From 18 to 21 November, WHO, UNICEF and SUN will host a webinar series promoting ambitious and impactful country actions, including:
- It highlights current progress, identifies barriers to achieving the Global Nutrition Goals by 2025, and presents proposals to extend the WHA Global Nutrition Goals in line with the 2030 Agenda.
- We present examples of best practice from around the world and inspire others on their journey towards commitment.
- Focus on high-impact interventions needed to improve nutrition.
- Describes key resources available to countries to address priority topics related to the scope of the Paris 2025 N4G and SUN Global Gathering.
Join us to start the week! We will hear from leading experts and set out the foundations and commitment needed to tackle malnutrition in all its forms.
