Samsung is introducing several new features to the Samsung Health app to help users further monitor their medications, health records, and daily food intake.
The Samsung Health app is included on many of the best Android smartwatches on the market and allows users to track various health metrics such as exercise and sleep alongside devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and the new Samsung Galaxy Ring. can.
Samsung has announced three major upgrades to the app, which are now available to users on Android 10.0 and above.
The new medical records feature allows users to access medical records from clinics, hospitals, and major health networks within the app. Powered by a partnership with b.well Connected Health, the feature “guides users toward preventive care by providing meaningful insights and alerts that suggest next steps,” Samsung said.
Other new upgrades for Samsung Health
In addition to health records, Samsung is adding new features to its medication tracking capabilities. This allows users to track and record their prescriptions while also providing information about side effects and warnings about drug interactions and food reactions.
Now you can add medication by simply scanning the pill bottle with your phone’s camera. We’ve also added a new dashboard where you can monitor your medication progress.
Finally, Samsung Health makes tracking your meals easy with features borrowed from MyFitnessPal. Barcode scanning has been added to the app, allowing users to record food details by simply scanning the food’s barcode with their iPhone’s camera.
Samsung said the new features will be rolled out first in the United States, and will gradually roll out in select European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Poland. Currently, the UK and Australia are not on the list, but Samsung says the feature will be rolled out to “additional markets” in the future.
Samsung Health app version 6.28 will be rolled out to users.
