Chennai: The Madras High Court has ruled that Siddha doctors registered with the Tamil Nadu Siddha Medical Council are not prohibited from practicing modern scientific systems of medicine as per the state government’s 2010 G.O. was lowered.

However, the judge held that the medicinal product could not be kept for sale or distribution as no such act should be done without a license under section 18(c) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. did.
The judge dismissed the petition, stating that the case against her was registered for purchasing and selling drugs without a license, rather than using modern scientific medical systems.
He directed the 10th Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court to dispose of the case as expeditiously as possible.
