The right hair care products can do wonders for your hair, but it’s important not to underestimate the power of a healthy diet.

Covering a variety of topics including gardening, style, and beauty, content creators share how to maintain healthy hair into your 50s.

Lisa Monique (known as In the Garden with LM on YouTube) reveals some of her key strategies for achieving luscious hair.

For those who want to improve the appearance of their hair, beauty enthusiasts recommended increasing protein intake.

“All these crazy things are happening, and eating more protein can counteract these effects.”

Lisa says: ‘My number one tip is to eat more protein. We all know the changes that occur in our bodies as we approach menopause due to hormonal fluctuations and a drop in estrogen.

“We lose bone mass, we lose muscle mass, and our hair texture becomes thinner.

“All these crazy things are happening, and eating more protein can counteract these effects.”

As for how much protein women should aim for each day, Harvard Health says, “The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein is a modest 0.36 grams per pound.

“RDA is the amount of a nutrient you need to meet your basic nutritional requirements. In a sense, it’s the minimum amount you need to avoid getting sick, not a specific amount you should eat every day.”

Lisa suggested increasing this to 0.45 to 0.55 grams of protein per pound of body weight.

she said: “It’s very easy to do. If you feel like you can’t eat more meat, eggs, or other protein-rich foods, like lentils if you’re vegan, you can add protein powder to your shake. There you are.”

Independent Pharmacy supported this. In an article about the relationship between protein and hair loss, experts say: “Hair is primarily composed of a protein called keratin, which contains long chains of amino acids.

“Keratin is a structural protein that makes up the outermost layer of human skin, hair, and nails. This fibrous structural protein gives hair its smooth, strong texture.

“Hair follicles anchor each hair. Within the hair follicle, amino acids are assembled into keratin chains through a process called protein synthesis. Keratin is incorporated into hair cells as they grow from the scalp. Hair is almost entirely composed of “keratin” protein.

“If you don’t get enough protein, the keratin produced in your hair follicles becomes weaker, making your hair brittle and more prone to damage. Protein is essential for regenerating hair cells and promoting normal growth cycles.” It is a component.

People who want to increase their protein intake should stock up on beans, peas, lentils, nuts and seeds, lean meat, fish, dairy products, and soy products.
