Hayley Williams Shares Message For World Mental Health Day

by Universalwellnesssystems

When Chapel Lawn began discussing the effects of fame on mental health, Hayley Williams was one of the first celebrities to voice public support for the young pop sensation. Today, the Paramore bandleader shares a message for World Mental Health Day.

The singer posted a statement on Instagram for hair dye company Good Dye Young. “In 2018, after years of struggling with my heart and my frustrating health issues, I was finally diagnosed with depression and a certain type of PTSD,” she begins, adding, Ta.

Admittedly, I was completely ignorant about mental illness and how difficult it can be. I didn’t know that it could also affect your physical health. My doctor had previously told me I had chronic fatigue, but I still didn’t realize how interconnected my mind and body were. By the way, this type of fatigue is becoming more and more common. Thriving holistically in the modern world can seem quite impossible.

If I hadn’t had access to a mental health professional or a functional physician, I might never have learned these things and continued to suffer alone without answers. I hate to think how many people are stuck without answers or concrete help.

There are clearly small things we can do every day to cheer ourselves up and give ourselves the space to truly express how we feel and who we are. Small victories help. I’ve always looked to music, dying or changing my hair, some form of community…but sometimes you need more support than these can provide.

There are some really great people doing great work to make the path to mental health more fair and efficient. I would like to focus on some of them. That way, if you find any of them appealing, you can reach out.
