Pamela Anderson believes she battled depression ‘for a couple of decades’

Pamela Anderson has revealed that she has battled depression for “decades” despite her glamorous career in Hollywood.

Anderson, 57, appeared at the Zurich Film Festival for the premiere of Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl. The actress’s career was recognized with the GoldenEye Award.

“I never expected to win an award like this and be on stage,” Anderson explained at the Zurich Film Festival. Variety reported. “I just want to keep working. I’m excited to do more.”

“When I look at it now, it feels like we went from ‘Baywatch’ to Broadway. We don’t know what happened in between. It’s all a big blur,” she said. “I think I’ve been suffering from depression for the last few decades, so I’m so happy to be here at this moment.”

Anderson experienced something of a career renaissance after Ryan White’s Pamela, A Love Story was published in 2023. That same year, Anderson published her memoir, Love, Pamela.

“Ryan created that document and Gia saw me that way too. I always knew I could do more,” she explained. “It’s great to be a part of pop culture, but it’s both a blessing and a curse.

“People like you because of your swimsuit. It took a long time, but I’m here.”

Anderson gained fame as a Playboy model. In the 90’s. She appeared on the cover of men’s magazines in 1989 and was named Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in February 1990.

The model appeared on the cover a total of 14 times, setting a record for the most cover appearances for a Playmate. Anderson eventually transitioned from modeling to acting and landed the role of “Tool Time Girl” on “Home Improvement” in 1991.

Currently, Anderson feels “far removed” from her Hollywood self. Models have shed their “cartoon character” self and become closer to their natural beauty by not wearing makeup.

“It made me let go of the image I always had of myself,” Anderson said recently. better homes and gardens.

“What is this cartoon character that I created? Yes, it was fun, but I’m not that person anymore.”
