by Universalwellnesssystems

Sagging skin is an inevitable sign of aging, and your neck doesn’t go unscathed either.

But while it’s completely natural, many women want to reduce the appearance of their necks, often referred to as a “turkey neck.”

GB News exclusively interviewed various experts on how women can combat this problem without putting themselves at risk.

A beauty expert, an NHS nurse-turned-dermatologist and a personal trainer have told how women can tone their necks at home.

Katie Walker, beauty expert and deputy editor of Beauty Answers, recommends effective skin care, facial yoga, plenty of hydration, and a healthy diet.

She says: ‘The neck is one of the first areas to show signs of aging, but with a little care you can keep it looking youthful.

“Start with skin care. Your neck needs just as much attention as your face.”

The beauty guru recommended using a moisturizer with SPF daily to protect against sun damage that accelerates aging.

Women should apply a moisturizing neck cream at night that contains ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, retinol, and peptides.

She explained, “These ingredients promote collagen production, smoothing fine lines and giving skin a more youthful appearance.”

Exfoliating is also essential. Women should gently exfoliate their necks once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover for a “fresher, more radiant” look. Additionally, this allows the applied product to penetrate more effectively.

As for which products to use, Katie encouraged women to invest in good products.

She advised, “Look for serums and creams that contain antioxidants, vitamin C, and niacinamide to help improve skin texture and even out skin tone.”

Experts also recommended investing in a high-quality neck cream, as consistent use can make a big difference.

Practicing face yoga is another way to keep your neck looking younger. In fact, experts say certain techniques can actually “work wonders.”

For those looking to relieve years of neck strain from the comfort of their own home, Katie had this advice: “Gently massaging in upward strokes, especially when applying moisturizers and serums, can help increase blood circulation and lift your skin over time.”

Neck stretches and exercises can also improve blood circulation, tone your muscles, and help keep your skin firm.

Experts also ensure proper hydration and a healthy diet at the same time to beautify the skin of both the face and neck.

She says drinking lots of water keeps your skin “plump and healthy,” while antioxidant-rich foods like berries, nuts, and leafy greens “fight free radical damage and stimulate collagen production.” He explained that it is possible to “support”

Emma Coleman, an NHS nurse turned dermatologist, also shared her thoughts on how to deal with aging necks at home.

She says, “Apply a ceramide-rich cream every night before bed.Apply in upward circular motions to improve blood circulation.

“Before bed, pamper your neck with a homemade mask. Mix two tablespoons of honey with raw coconut and your favorite skin polish. [exfoliator]. Mix well and massage gently all over your neck. ”

For long-lasting results, going the professional route is also an option. Emma recommended a course of Morpheus 8, which uses microneedling and radiofrequency technology, combined with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy).

She explained that applying microneedling with radiofrequency and 650nm wavelength light “increases collagen, which helps instantly tighten and rejuvenate sagging skin.”

Emma added: “The PDO thread lift is a simple procedure that inserts up to six threads into the jaw and neck area to physically tighten the entire area. The results can last up to 18 months.” I added.

However, before going down the treatment route, it is important to seek out a qualified professional. The official NHS website contains important information about both cosmetic procedures and cosmetic surgery.

Gary Lockwood, CEO of 24/Fitness and a personal trainer for 30 years, also spoke to GB News about how women can improve the appearance of their necks.

“The best way to improve the appearance of your neck is to combine weight loss with exercises that specifically strengthen your neck muscles,” he says.

“When you engage in activities like running, swimming and cycling, your neck naturally gets more exercise than you think, burning calories and toning it at the same time.

“These exercises are great for promoting overall weight loss while supporting the muscles around your neck.

“To take it a step further, you can incorporate targeted exercises, such as neck stretches, to further develop strength in that area.

“By focusing on both aerobic exercise and specific neck exercises, you can improve the appearance of your neck while increasing your overall fitness.”
