Scottish actor and Inheritance Star Brian Cox has built a career on playing short-tempered characters, and for ASICS’ World Mental Health Day campaign he takes on the role of “World’s Scariest Boss.” The minute-long clip sees Cox sitting at an intimidating wooden desk, revealing new data shaping the threat of mental health in the workplace.
In the ASICS PSA, he portrays himself in an educational light, talking about the negative effects of sitting for more than two hours. Showing off his style essentials of a formal blazer, pleated shorts and ASICS running shoes, the cool boss urges us to get up and move around.
Ahead of World Mental Health Day, ASICS conducted a global mental health survey, assessing 26,000 participants’ interactions with their work environment. ASICS found that mental health starts to decline after just two hours, and stress levels tend to increase by 18%. The performance label aims to encourage daily exercise, revealing that just 15 minutes of exercise can improve mental health and productivity by 22.5%.
