Actor Amol Parashar recently celebrated a personal milestone, taking to Instagram to show off his impressive physical transformation to his fans. On August 12, he posted a before-and-after photo showing his journey from being overweight to now sporting ripped abs.
In a follow-up interview, Parashar shared more about his fitness journey. He said, “Initially, I started prepping for a project that would be shot in April-May. But with time, I began to appreciate the way my body looked and felt. Now, I am focused on maintaining the results.” He adds, “While the characters I played were my motivation, I am also really enjoying the shape I have and aim to maintain it. I gained weight in November-December for the role and shedding that extra weight was also part of the process.”

Parashar reveals that this is the first time he has been so focused on his appearance and worked so hard on his fitness routine. “I’ve always been toned. I wasn’t overweight, but I wasn’t particularly muscular either. But I never put in so much effort earlier in my career. This time, I aimed to get a toned, muscular physique and I am really happy to see the results,” he says.
Explaining his training regime, Parashar, who was last seen in the 2022 film 36 Farmhouse, revealed how much dedication it took. “The journey began with a strict regime in February and since then, I have lost around 9 kg. It involved a lot of sacrifices in my social life, training and a proper diet plan. My training involved a lot of walking and running. I had a trainer who guided me, telling me how many times a week to lift and how much weight,” the 37-year-old said, adding, “Not just losing weight, I also got abs! I worked hard on building muscle mass through strength training and keep progressing step by step.”

Regarding his diet, Parashar admitted that he “ate the same thing almost every day for two months,” and his social life also took a hit as he avoided going out to avoid unhealthy food. “I ate mostly high-protein foods and was in a calorie deficit. [diet]”I don’t really have a sweet tooth, but I found myself craving namkeen, bhujiya and fried foods a lot while traveling. It was a good habit as it helped me to stop munching on things in the middle of the night. But it did affect my social life. I stopped going out with friends for a while and cut out unhealthy foods. All the sacrifices were part of the journey,” Parashar says.
Parashar concludes that achieving a healthier body has had a positive impact on him both mentally and physically: “I feel lighter and more energetic because I’ve achieved my goals in a healthy way – a goal I’ve been on the fence about since I was a teenager!”
