Jeff Bleuett had never heard of Andy Warhol In 1985, he was sent to New York to teach pop artists how to use computers.

Bleuett was a product manager at Pennsylvania-based Commodore.

“I said, ‘Why don’t we hire someone who knows computers?’ And they said, ‘We have Andy Warhol; he designed Campbell’s Soup cans.’ I thought he was a label designer.”

Bleuett soon found himself at Warhol’s studio, the Factory, where he rubbed shoulders with Ric Ocasek of The Cars and Debbie Harry of Blondie.

Bleuette showed Warhol how to use his new Amiga computer to create photographs of Harry at press conferences.

“Andy was a really nice guy,” Bruett told me. “Very friendly.”

At the rehearsal, Harry wore a sequined minidress by Stephen Sprouse and sat next to Bleuette.

“Don’t those sequins itch?” Bleuette asked the blonde.

“It’s actually quite smooth inside,” Harry replied. “Want to touch it?”

“I went red,” Bleuette said.

Warhol’s demonstration at Lincoln Center that night Debbie Harry’s memoir “Face It” So, she writes, “I kind of guffawed…and asked in a meaningful Marilyn voice, ‘Are you ready to paint me?’

Harry has one photo from the event, and Bleuett has the other.

“I rolled up my work and put it in my closet and forgot about it,” Bruett said, “but this is my first piece of true digital art.”

The Blondie portrait, along with other Warhol works acquired by Bleuette, are now in the hands of private art dealer Kenneth Mitchell and are being offered for sale for the high price of $26 million.

Like TV shows and streaming series, podcasts also have final episodes.

lastly “Who is Roger Smit?” The narrator, a former Time Warner executive, envisions his own launch party at Elaine’s.

Who are our guests? They’ve been on our podcast for the past three years.

Is Robert Altman on good terms with the Menendez brothers? Is Grace Kelly really upset with Sylvester Stallone? Is Mel Gibson on good terms with anyone? Maybe Schwarzenegger will fly in on Roger’s flight.

It’s all here, including sage advice from Elaine Kaufman herself, who told Smith this cold truth when he dropped in one Saturday night.

Roger was not impressed with the weekend crowd, with Kaufman joking, “‘Roger, don’t you know what every madam knows? Saturday is schmuck night.'” Smith learned the hard way.

You can find more thoughts from the final episode on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
