There is a relationship between the amount of exercise and the memory of things.

  • Important reasons: We know that physical activity is good for the mind, but new researchwas published in scientific reportshowing that different forms of exercise can benefit different aspects of brain function, such as memory.

🖼️ Zoom out: Researchers collected a year’s worth of Fitbit physical activity data from study participants and administered a memory test.

  • They found that more active people were better at remembering where things were, details of stories, and words in foreign languages.

💡 Line spacing: The study authors ran into another interesting finding.

  • Consider that long-distance running strengthens the heart and legs, and biceps strengthens the arms, just as different types of exercise have a distinct effect on our bodies.

🧠 Chew this: People who had just completed a strenuous workout, such as high-intensity interval training, were particularly good at ‘spatial learning’ or recall. Where something happened Those who underwent low-intensity training, such as walking, were also better at “naturalistic recall,” or recalling details of stories.

can’t find next Your key makes a fast-paced round of jumping jacks. And if you can’t remember what your friend said yesterday, try going for a walk. Hey, worth a try.
