Viral: Zomato CEO Launches New Feature Called “Healthier Suggestions”, Internet Reacts

Food delivery apps have become an unavoidable part of many of our daily lives. To move users towards a healthier lifestyle, Zomato has introduced new features. From now on, when you order food on the platform, you will be presented with healthier alternatives for the same dish. Announcing this update on X (formerly Twitter), Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal shared a note. He said, “We have just launched a new feature in Zomato that will gently help customers make healthier choices (just in case you order something unknowingly and regret it later). “With an attachment rate of 7% for these suggestions, we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback for this feature. X’s post has been viewed more than 210,000 times. Users had many questions and comments regarding this new feature.

A user asked, “Could you mark reduced oil and gluten-free products so it’s easier to choose?” To this comment, Deepinder Goyal replied, “Yes, I will!”

Another asked, “Can I opt out of this during my cheat day?” “Based on your feedback, we plan to make all of these nudges opt-in features,” Deepinder Goyal wrote.

One person suggested, “Start mentioning the calories and protein of your products. This will help users make healthier choices and will definitely reduce cart abandonment.”

“Is it possible to add a calorie count to each menu option? It is currently only available in very limited restaurants,” read the comment.

User X requested, “I want a filter based on the type of oil used and an option to choose less oil.”

Some simply repeated, “This was necessary.”

A user asked, “Wouldn’t it be possible to also have filters to customize these suggestions based on dietary preferences?”
