(NewsNation) — How much of a role does social media play in mental health diagnosis?
Dr. Drew Pinsky, director of The Wellness Company, told NewsNation host Leland Wittert on Tuesday that the “over-labeling” of mental health issues is “out of control.” .
“I added a hashtag. Peer pressure,” Pinsky said on “On Balance.”
Pinsky is better known as “Dr. ‘Drew’ blamed the coronavirus lockdown for contributing to mental health issues, saying: ‘We have destroyed an entire population of young people.’ At the same time, Pincy said: “As long as it doesn’t interfere with functioning. It’s probably not a disease. …We have become a nation unwilling to tolerate the misery of ordinary life.”

Of these students, 54% reported mental stress and 43% reported mental health as a reason for wanting to drop out. The third most common reason was cost, at 31%.
