PureGym Bishop Auckland will be opened next month by Paralympic athlete Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.
The gym, located at the new Auckland Retail and Leisure Park near Reel Cinema, Super Bowl UK and The Range, will open at midday on June 3.
The 11,000 square foot facility will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for members to use at their convenience.
Members of PureGym, the UK’s largest gym operator, will now have access to “flexible and affordable fitness”.
The gym will be officially declared open by Baroness Grey-Thompson, multiple Paralympic gold medalist and County Durham local.
A Gym Group spokesperson outlined that the gym will have:
- Hundreds of state-of-the-art equipment
- Functional zone, free weight area, fixed resistance, cardio equipment, fitness studio
- A wide range of classes are included in your membership price
- Certified PT to support clients and free initial practice instruction
- Free parking on site
The gym is expected to provide nine jobs to the area with employment at the growing health care and fitness center.
