Tom Lanahan, 37, suffered from severe discomfort after having hernia surgery in 2012 and spent more than 10 years on a cocktail of drugs.
To cure the pain, tree surgeons inserted a pioneering nerve stimulator in his back, but it proved ineffective.
Tom said: “My hernia exploded in 2012 while I was cutting down a tree.
“I had to undergo emergency surgery, but basically the nerves never recovered and I was left in severe pain.
“The pain became impossible to deal with and I tried everything. I was on tramadol, pregabalin, naproxen, amitriptyline, but I still suffered.”

Through a chance encounter with Farad Darbar of Healthcare International Research, Tom tried HEMPE, a brand of CBD products, and found it to be effective.
“Last summer I was at the Gardeners World trade show at the NEC in Birmingham, where we were selling gardening machinery, and Farard was there with his HEMPE products,” Tom said. Ta.
“I had no expectations and was pretty skeptical because I’ve tried a lot of things over the years.
“The effects were immediate. I felt it working on my back right away. It was amazing relief.”
Immediately feeling positive results, Tom continued to remove the dorsal root ganglion stimulator from his back.
He went on to say, “It’s hard to find the words to explain how transformative it has been.”
After years of struggle, Tom now hopes to be able to go cycling with his children, something he was previously unable to do due to the pain.
“We’re very excited to be part of the Green Berets,” said Farrard, who was a Green Beret commander before starting HEMPE. “I never get tired of hearing stories like this.
“The effects Tom is talking about were the same as those I experienced the first time I used CBD after being injured while serving in Afghanistan.
“That led me to give up my military career to start HEMPE.
“I’m so happy that Tom found something to manage his pain and it shows that it’s more effective than drugs or surgery.”
