Australian foodies are flocking to an innovative drive-thru that sells delicious, healthy and affordable meals.
Market Cart recently opened a new store in Kedron, Queensland. All meals cost less than $13.
Market Cart offers a balance between ‘fast food’ and ‘healthy eating’, with all menu items made from scratch daily using high quality Australian ingredients.
The eatery offers customers the kind of natural foods you’d find at your local farmers market, from fresh sandwiches and salads to burritos and hot breakfasts on the go.
“Our philosophy is simple,” co-owner Andrea Harcourt said. “We believe fast food is healthy, combining the value of whole foods with today’s convenience.”

Market Cart has managed to master the impossible combination of “fast food” and “healthy eating” where all menu items are made from scratch every day.
Mrs Harcourt told FEMAIL that the brand’s goal is to make eating healthy as easy as getting in the car and buying junk food.
“A big reason we can offer such low prices is because we’ve been in business for 10 years and have two other restaurants,” she said.
“We wanted to see if our concept of eating healthier for less money could be applied to drive-thrus.
“Our customers are health conscious and want the ability to eat healthy meals on the go.”
She revealed that they pay special attention to sourcing quality ingredients locally from other small businesses and farmers.
“All of our smoothies are made from 100% Australian fruit and all the meat and milk we use is locally sourced. Nothing is imported,” she said.
None of our foods contain additives or preservatives that are common in mass-produced products.
“We provide a drive-thru alternative for people who want to take care of themselves and enjoy great coffee,” Andrea said proudly.

She also said Market Cart’s meals are nutritionally balanced using evidence-based nutrition.
“It’s not diet food or rabbit food. It’s unprocessed, handmade, and balanced, so it’s real food.”
The Market Cart Kedron Drive Thru is open seven days a week, serving breakfast and lunch starting at 5 a.m. on weekdays and 6 a.m. on weekends.
Market Cart also has cafes on the grounds of the Royal Brisbane Hospital and at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus.
All locations also sell specialty coffee sourced from Fortitude Valley’s favorite roaster, Bare Bones.
