For Jennifer Fessler, there is nothing to be afraid of using Ozempic, even if her intestines are compressed.
In Monday's episode, Her “Two Jersey Js” Podcast In a conversation with “Real Housewives of New Jersey” newcomer Jackie Goldschneider, she revealed that she suffered some pretty unpleasant side effects after taking the celebrity-favorite weight loss drug.
“I've been on it this whole time, but I'm not going to call it Ozempic. It's an umbrella name. But I've been on semaglutide for over a year, and I've probably lost 22 pounds.” Fessler, 55, said on the podcast. (Notably, semaglutide is the active ingredient in drugs such as Ozempic.)
Despite admitting that she is a “terrible hypochondriac,” Fessler says her anxiety goes “out the window” when it comes to her “appearance.”
“I'm not afraid of Ozempic, and I will tell you that I had a bad experience. I'm sure it was because of semaglutide, but I had to go to the hospital for an intestinal obstruction. …And I’m not nervous yet.”
Fessler explained that one of the drug's “side effects” could be “constipation,” which she had been dealing with for a while, but decided to ignore.
“I wasn't drinking water or eating vegetables because it was a new experience for me to be able to eat what I wanted and still lose weight, even if it wasn't the healthiest choice. ” she explained. “So, for probably the first time in my life, I’m eating pizza and bagels and ice cream and losing weight.
“That being said, I noticed I was constipated, but I didn't do anything about it. I wasn't taking anything like Miralax or stool softeners, which I take every morning,” she said. said. “I didn’t go for a week, but I ended up going for a week and a half.”

However, she stopped short and admitted it was “my fault” for “ignoring” the signs, and has since changed her tune.
“I haven’t had any problems since then,” she said.
When Goldschneider brought up “muscle loss” as another known side effect, Fessler revealed that he had indeed lost muscle and had started going to the doctor “every month” to have it checked. .
“Physically, I feel much better when I'm dressed,” Fessler says. “I look 90 years old when I'm not wearing clothes, because I've gained and lost more than 20 pounds in my life…which means even though I've lost muscle and fat, I still have a lot of skin. It is.”
“Again, you're not going to build muscle just by lying in bed and eating potato chips, so I have to take responsibility for that. It doesn't work that way.'' She went on to say that she recently hired a personal trainer.
While Fessler has been candid about his decision to take weight-loss drugs, Goldschneider has expressed disdain for the drug, claiming that “more than half” of the “RHONJ” cast are currently taking weight-loss drugs.
“I am an outspoken advocate of eating disorder recovery and am very strongly against semaglutide to lose those last 10 pounds,” she explained.
“I think this is a very dangerous trend, but out of respect for each other and our friendship, we have never discussed it,” she continued.
Fessler, who also recently had a facelift and rhinoplasty, first hinted that he was taking the popular drug during an appearance on “What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in March.
During the taping, the reality TV star admitted that she had “lost a lot of weight” by taking “peptides,” but balked when asked directly if she was taking Ozempic.
“You said it, I didn't say it. But…whatever works, I'm here,” she joked.
