Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (popularly known as KCR) on Sunday released the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) manifesto for the upcoming assembly polls. In the manifesto, he promises to continue the party’s flagship welfare schemes, including Dalit Bandhu and KCR Bima.
Under the Dalit Bandhu Scheme, each Dalit household in Telangana will receive a subsidy of Rs 1 million for starting a business or investing in agriculture. The KCR Bima scheme will provide Rs 500,000 insurance cover to her 9.3 million BPL households in the state.
KCR also announced that the social pension for senior citizens, widows and disabled persons will be gradually increased from Rs 2,016 to Rs 5,000 per month over the next few years.
Social security pension for disabled persons will be increased to Rs 6,000 per month.
The party also promised to provide gas cylinders at Rs 400 to every eligible household. The Prime Minister said the BRS has promised a medical guarantee of Rs 1.5 million to every voter.
Telangana CM KCR has announced that 100,000 more double bedrooms will be built in Hyderabad, asserting that housing for everyone is the government’s social responsibility.
KCR is scheduled to address a public meeting in Husnabad in Siddipet district on Sunday night to mark the launch of the election campaign.
Husnabad is considered a lucky constituency for KCR as he started campaigning from the same place for the 2018 assembly polls.
The BRS announced candidates for 115 of the 119 seats in parliament in August, giving it a head start against the opposition BJP and Congress.
Telangana assembly polls are scheduled to be held on November 30.
