The surprising diet needed to jump-start your NFL career has been revealed by a food vlogger who ‘survived’ eating 24 hours a day like JJ Watt.
ErikTheElectric, who has amassed nearly 3 million subscribers on his YouTube eating challenge, ate 21,620 calories in less than a day.
This comes after NFL defensive end turned Burnley minority owner JJ Watt revealed his daily routine of two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners and even three cheat meals.
The YouTuber decided to try them all in one day, including a huge variety of foods including 10 eggs, broccoli, beef brisket and potato pancakes.
Watt spent 12 seasons in the NFL before retiring in January of this year. He is a former defensive end who is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 288 pounds.
To strengthen that skeleton, his first breakfast included six eggs, oatmeal, and various fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, and bananas.
In total, the vlogger burned about 3,000 calories. This exceeds the recommended daily amount for both women (2,000) and men (2,500).
Watt’s second breakfast consisted of four eggs and four pieces of wheat toast. Two were covered with peanut butter, banana and honey and the rest were eaten with jelly. The calorie count is now (4,580).
What followed was the first of three cheat meals, stuffed French toast with maple syrup, followed by potato pancakes, which contained an additional 4,150 calories.
“Lunch 1” consisted of three chicken breasts wrapped in bacon and drizzled with Italian dressing along with a plate of broccoli and whole wheat pasta.
On the other hand, “Lunch 2” had more chicken breast, mashed sweet potatoes, and steamed carrots. The two meals together add up to a whopping 4,250 calories.
ErikTheElectric hit the 14,000 calorie mark with his second cheat meal of the day: BBQ brisket. He estimated that by that time he had already taken in 650 grams of protein. This was more than I would normally take in a week.
But then two of his dinners appeared. Lamb chops, grilled asparagus, whole wheat pasta, filet mignon, steamed broccoli, and more pasta. All that’s left? Cheat meal #3: 1 bag of Oreos and over 2,900 calories.
“I’m stuffed to the brim. It’s like I have a newborn child inside,” the YouTuber admitted.
