This November, Nevada will have the opportunity to set a minimum wage of $12 an hour for nearly all employees in the state.
Nevada currently has a two-tier minimum wage system. The minimum wage rate permitted for employees with eligible health insurance is $1 per hour less than the minimum wage rate permitted for employees without eligible health insurance. Question 2amends the Nevada Constitution to set a $12 hourly minimum wage regardless of the type of benefits an employer offers.
If passed, the new minimum wage will take effect from 1 July 2024.
