The Ozempic is no laughing matter for comedians.
Handler said an “anti-aging doctor” prescribed her the drug without knowing what it was. “She didn’t even know she was in,” she said on the Jan. 25 episode. call her daddy. “She said, ‘If you want to lose five pounds, this is it.'”
But Handler noted that she didn’t like how the drug felt while she was trying it.
“I came home from vacation and injected myself with it,” she recalled. “A few days later, I went to lunch with my girlfriend and she said, ‘I haven’t really eaten anything. I’m nauseous. I’m taking Ozempic.’ I feel like I’m going to vomit,” I thought. But I had just returned from Spain and was jet lagged. “
Handler eventually stopped using it because it wasn’t medically necessary and gave the rest to a friend, he added.
“I’ve injected four or five friends with Ozempic because I realized they were stupid and didn’t want to use it,” she said. “This is for heavy people. People come to my house and it’s like, ‘Okay, I can see you at one, I’ll see you at two.'”
