PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – After uncertainty looms over the thousands of Pittsburgh residents who have Cigna health insurance, Allegheny Health Network and Cigna announced they have agreed to a one-year contract.
Both sides also said they were working on signing a multi-year deal in the coming weeks.

The agreement will allow Cigna Healthcare customers in western Pennsylvania to continue to have access to AHN facilities and physicians within their network.
“This agreement is great news for the more than 20,000 people in the region who have Cigna insurance and rely on AHN for their medical needs,” said AHN Chairman James Benedict.
“Our collaboration with Allegheny Health Network will provide quality, affordable care to those who serve us jointly in this community,” said Mike Angbury, Vice President of Network Management for Cigna Healthcare. Added.
