by Universalwellnesssystems

Japan is aiming to achieve a goal of doubling its budget for child-rearing support and other programs in the early 2030s to combat the declining birthrate, people familiar with the matter said on Saturday.

Under Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s draft plan to secure financial resources for drastic countermeasures against the declining birthrate, the government decided to establish a new special account to centrally manage child-related budgets.

The government intends to implement the measures intensively over the next three years from April 2024 and secure additional financial resources of 3 trillion yen annually.
