The National Food and Drug Administration on Friday locked down an unapproved herbal blending plant in Adebola, Ibadan, Oyo state.

A correspondent’s investigation revealed that herbal mixes were being distributed to major cities in the country without formal approval from regulators.
In an interview with a journalist, the factory owner said he had been making the concoction for more than five years.
But he acknowledged that he has yet to finalize all the necessary documents with NAFDAC.
NAFDAC zone director Roseline Ajayi expressed concern about the development.
Ajayi said some concerned Nigerians had called authorities, adding that the suspect had no pending NFDAC applications.
“The unlicensed factory premises were cordoned off by NAFDAC officials and the suspects were handed over to the police for prosecution,” she said.
