Chris and Sarah Gosselin are fans of indoor cycling and have noticed that cycling is popular in the Tallahassee area.
After knowing the fitness brand cycle barthe couple thought would be a great addition to Tallahassee’s health and fitness scene.
“I’m a huge proponent of indoor cycling,” said Sarah. “After COVID, we were looking for a place where we could do indoor cycling.”
This appeal prompted them to investigate the Tallahassee potential and decide to purchase the CycleBar franchise in March 2022.
Since then, it’s been a short cycle of marketing ventures, connecting with local wellness companies, and most recently overseeing the construction of a studio in northeast Tallahassee.
A high-energy indoor cycling gym will open in early May at 1413 Market Street in Tallahassee’s Market District. The Cycling Studio is located on the second floor of Hopkins, directly above his Eatery.

Brooke Robinson, General Manager of Tallahassee CycleBar, said:
The “Ride” workout consists of intense cardio exercises led by an energetic instructor in a fun, hyper-environment featuring fast-paced music. After each session, riders are emailed CycleStats, performance metrics to track their progress.
The cycling studio has 45 bikes and 10-15 instructors. Riders can purchase a membership plan or pay for individual classes.
Co-owner Chris Gosselin says he still employs front-of-house staff to greet riders as they enter and help prepare for classes.
The difference between CycleBar and other exercise studios that incorporate cycling is that CycleBar is dedicated to cycling as a total body workout and has no other exercise options.
The Gosselins attended Florida State University and remained in Tallahassee after graduation, working as consultants for state agencies.
The couple are excited about the new business venture and how they hope it will fare in the Tallahassee community.
“One of the things that attracted us to CycleBar is the broad demographic,” says Sarah Gosselin.
She said their pre-membership is growing and spans a wide range of demographics by age, race, and identity.
“We’re trying to create a sense of community inside and outside the studio,” said Sarah.
The studio is still under construction, but the team is setting up promotional tables at events around town. We also partner with other local businesses such as Supplement Shop, 5 Star Nutrition and Good Berry Acai Bowls. These partnerships offer discounts to CycleBar members and help bring together local fitness communities.
“Our membership numbers are growing. People are really excited about what we bring.”
How to prepare the CycleBar class
Robinson says it’s best for first-time riders to arrive 10 minutes before class to tour the studio, put on their cycling shoes, and get ready.
Riders are not required to bring anything other than socks to class. Water, cycling shoes and towels are complimentary with each ride.
“Keep an open mind and be prepared,” Robinson advises. You have complete control, so you don’t have to push yourself. “
How much is a CycleBar membership?
The studio is not yet operational, so currently only memberships can sign up.When it opens, riders will be able to sign up for individual classes.
- Unlimited membership is $169/month.
- The Eight Ride membership plan is $129/month.
- A membership plan for four rides is $79 per month.
