Michael B. Jordan’s ‘Creed 3’ Diet and Workout Routine

If you’ve ever marveled at Michael B. Jordan’s ripped physique in the movie Creed, know that he has Corey Carriet.

A personal trainer who’s been working with Jordan since 2014 told Insider how his longtime friend helped him get in the best shape of his life for the latest ‘Creed’ movie. .

When it comes to training for the third installment of the film franchise, Jordan once again plays Apollo’s illegitimate son Adonis Creed, who is pursuing a career in professional boxing. Not only did they want Jordan’s physical prowess to improve in every movie, but in ‘Creed 3’, Creed is retired and far from a rookie, but Jordan will continue to be his director while appearing in the movies. Calliet told Insider how he trained the movie star to have the best body ever.

“Have you heard of eating on the go? We trained on the go,” said Calliet. “I couldn’t do a full session, so I had to train little by little throughout the day.”

Jordan and Carriet were training twice a day for up to 90 minutes.

When Jordan wasn’t filming or preparing for a role, he never let go of his physique and fitness.Calliet wants him to stay in shape for no more than six weeks, he said. Told.

“It’s not that hard when you start again because you keep moving and moving your body,” he said.

For “Creed 3,” which hits theaters in March, Carriet and Jordan trained six days a week for four months before filming began, with the goal of making Jordan’s physique the best it’s ever been.

“This time he’s probably bigger than all the other players,” said Carriet. “He’s big and sculpted.”

Calliet said they were exercising once or twice a day for 60 to 90 minutes, each time focusing on a different muscle group, as well as boxing.

To work out Jordan’s abs, Carriet threw him a wide range of exercises, including bicycle crunches, lying leg raises, ab rollouts, weighted rope crunches, and Russian twists.

Calliet also trained Jonathan Majors, who co-stars with Jordan in “Creed 3.” Carriet said the competitive spirit of wanting to be better than others helped both men work harder.

Calliet modified Jordan’s workout to keep his body guessing

However, when filming began, Carriet said the training was “very sporadic,” with the duo exercising here and there for 30 minutes.

Each 30-minute workout begins with cardio like running, full body training like warm-ups, plyometrics, calisthenics, weightlifting, HIIT and conditioning.

Karriet said Jordan did different types of workouts to “keep the body going.”

As an experienced athlete, Jordan’s body is used to a lot of exercise. So, he said, Calliet kept challenging him with different types of exercise to get results.

“That’s when your body keeps guessing and it’s changing,” Calliet said.

The workout was also a welcome stress relief from the pressure of Jordan’s coaching, Carriet said.

Calliet said Jordan hasn’t slept much for as long as he’s known him. But if fatigue started to affect his training, Jordan would take a nap or sleep longer.

Jordan ate a lot of turkey and rice

Nutrition was key to building Jordan’s biggest body ever.

It was a “rigorous diet,” but we ate plenty of snacks like fruit to keep Jordan energized throughout the day.

Karriet said she used to eat a “cheat meal” once a week that helped Jordan’s physique, and that after Jordan eats, say, a hamburger, his muscles look fuller and his body is “not flat.” I explained that it was gone.

The goal was to make the calorie deficit a little less on most days and tougher as we got closer to shooting.

Calliet planned all meals for Jordan. His diet was simple, repetitive, and focused on protein and whole foods. An average day for meals is:

  • Breakfast: ground turkey or turkey sausage, eggs, rice, fruit
  • Snack: protein shake or fruit
  • Lunch: Ground turkey or chicken with rice and vegetables
  • Dinner: Ground turkey or chicken with rice and vegetables

“When you’re trying to look a certain way, a simple diet, a bodybuilding diet, I believe it works,” Calliet said.

Jordan also supplemented his diet with BCAAs, protein powder, glutamine (to aid recovery), and multivitamins.

For his final act, Carriet joined Jordan on set every day to ensure every punch was captured from the best angle.
