9 personality traits of people who prioritize health and fitness

by Universalwellnesssystems

Prioritizing health and fitness isn’t always easy, but if you’ve managed to prioritize health and fitness in your life, you’ve probably seen the benefits firsthand.

As with anything in life, it’s important to establish and stick to habits. Once these become habits, it becomes much easier to maintain them over time and build on them to improve further.

It may seem as though it takes a certain type of person to be healthy and well, but the truth is that we all have it within us. is. Because our personalities can change, and if we really want to make health and fitness a priority, we can take steps to do so.

That’s all for today’s article! See what you can learn from people who make their health and fitness a top priority.

1) they don’t make excuses

First and foremost, those who prioritize health and fitness make no excuses. If you decide to go to the gym every day, you will go to the gym every day whether you like it or not. They refuse to let excuses get in the way.

I think this is the hardest thing for me, so if you are like me the same would apply.

The problem is, we started with the best of intentions, but one day we wake up with a headache, or it’s our birthday, or some other excuse, and it thwarts our efforts. is.

Prioritizing health and fitness is something we must continue to work on throughout the year. I think of it like a game of snakes and ladders without ladders.

There are no shortcuts to get us moving forward, but if we make excuses and take a few days off, we end up having to do an enormous amount of work just to get back to where we started.

2) They like to be hot and sweaty.

Some people like to sweat, some people hate it. At least most of the time I fit into the latter group. I don’t like getting hot under my collar when I’m walking around or going about my daily routine, but I don’t mind sweating when I’m exercising.

If you don’t mind getting hot and sweaty when you’re out and about, you’ll probably spend more time walking and less time Ubering. You will also feel better. But as I said at the beginning of this article, there is a lot of room for change.

So if you want to prioritize your health and fitness, prioritizing being hot and sweaty is a good place to start. If you’re willing to break a sweat every now and then, you’ll notice that you’re feeling better in no time.

3) Set goals and achieve them

Perhaps the biggest thing I’ve noticed among people who prioritize their health and fitness is that they regularly set goals and hold themselves accountable for achieving them. Nothing can be done without a goal.

Everyone has a different approach to goal setting. One of the most common ways to set goals is to Use SMART goals – That is, goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely.

When it comes to fitness, a good example of a SMART goal is to lose 10 kilos in 6 months by increasing your activity level and limiting your caloric intake to a maximum of 2,000 calories per day.

In fact, this is the goal I’m working on incorporating some of the personality traits I’m talking about right now.

4) They consider themselves responsible

There is no point in having goals unless you take responsibility for achieving them. This is as true at home as it is at work, and I can’t think of anything more important when it comes to our health and fitness.

Because if you can’t take responsibility for what you want to achieve, you can’t achieve it.

When you look at someone who seems to be successful, they probably have goals and are responsible for achieving them.

This applies to health and fitness, but it also applies to everything else in life. Once you take responsibility for your own health and fitness, you might be surprised at how big an impact it can have elsewhere.

5) Celebrate milestones

When you set a goal and hold yourself accountable for achieving it, you start achieving it.

When that happens, don’t just nod or smile, but move on. Celebrate the victory, even if it means rewarding yourself with watching your favorite movie again.

If you don’t celebrate milestone achievement, it can feel as if the milestone never happened, or even if it did, it was an anti-climax.

I like to break big goals down into smaller milestones. So I set myself a goal of losing 10kg, I’m going to celebrate 2.5km and 5km, and when I reach the end, I’m going to celebrate 7.5km before the big celebration.

It’s a good idea to decide ahead of time how you plan to celebrate your milestone achievements so that you can look forward to achieving them.

Suppose you are about to buy yourself a new coat that has been on your mind for a while. Print a photo and place it on your desk to keep an eye on your prize.

6) They drink a lot of water.

We all know that staying hydrated by drinking lots of water is a good thing. The problem is that not many people actually do that.

The great thing about drinking water is that it is difficult to overdose. Fatty foods are not bad for you. Unless you go overboard and try to consume all the bottled water in the city, you’ll only get benefits.

Like drinking a lot of water, I carry a water bottle with me wherever I go so that I can stay hydrated while on the move.

When I sit at my desk in the office, I always refill my glass of water every hour. When the weather is hot, I freeze bottled water so I can drink it as it thaws throughout the day.

7) They never skip breakfast

It’s been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and there’s a lot of truth to this.that’s the meal activate the metabolism Gives you the energy and nutrients you need to get out of bed.

One of the great things about not skipping breakfast is that, if you’re like me, you won’t want to eat anything heavy when you wake up in the morning.

This makes it very easy to eat a wholesome and healthy breakfast instead of just eating cakes and biscuits while waiting for lunch.

Also, eating a healthy breakfast often leaves you feeling less hungry at lunchtime. Therefore, they are less likely to overeat and eat more fruit. TL:DR, if you have to skip meals, skip lunch, not breakfast.

8) They fill their homes with healthy food

When it comes to healthy foods, I’ve found that filling my home with healthy foods makes it much easier to make sure I eat them.

please think about it. If your cupboard is full of unhealthy snacks, you’re going to eat them all.

I did something similar when I wanted to drink less. Just by not buying alcohol and keeping it out of the house, I have significantly reduced my intake. Then I applied that learning to the food I ate.

The only thing I would say is that preparation time should also be considered. This is a point that often bothers me.

There’s no point in having healthy food if it takes too long to make and you don’t eat it. That’s why I vow to always include fresh fruit and granola.

9) They prioritize their mental health

This point is the most important for me personally. Because I have had my fair share of mental health issues and I know how much it impacts my life.

My experience is that if your mental health isn’t in place, you can’t prioritize your health and fitness. A healthy mind is the first step to a healthy body.

The good news is that exercise is a great way to improve your mental health, and the two go hand in hand.

And let’s be honest, if you’re thinking about prioritizing your health, if you’re just prioritizing your mental health, it’s still far better than doing nothing.
