I know what it’s like to go through stages of mental health where you feel completely out of control and miserable and lost. Protecting our mental health is easier than you think. Simple activities that we can all do every day that make us feel good can help us cope better with life.
Trying something new can sometimes feel uncomfortable, but it usually gets easier the more you practice. One thing to remember is that none of us are perfect. We all have our limits. What is good enough for you is great.
Here are the phrases that helped me improve my mental health when I was at rock bottom:
1. Mental health is a human default state
No need to fix it. It’s enough to take care of your body and let go of the idea that you’re “special.” You’re not special, but you’re still very unique.
Stop believing the lies of “mental health awareness” and focus on using that great brain to create something great (yes, it is).
2. Take three long, slow breaths through your nose to create a bridge between chaos and order.
