If there’s one thing the Europeans got right, it’s the Mediterranean diet.

It has been linked to several health benefits ranging from promoting health.
Diet — Won the overall title for 6 consecutive years US News & World Report Experts say it can even stop premature death.
“It’s a combination of nutrition, physical activity level and social environment,” says Spanish nutritionist Alba Santaliestra. told Insider.
Santaliestra shared six tips to help you stay on the Mediterranean diet as enjoyable as actually being in the Mediterranean, and ultimately be more successful.
Make interactions with people a positive experience
“The social environment in Mediterranean countries is really, really important,” Santaliestra said of creating happy memories with healthy food.
“We have a really good experience around the table.”
She recommends doing what you can to share a meal with friends, family, or even co-workers to brighten the experience.
cook your own meals
A great way to avoid processed foods is to stick to cooking your own food, Santaliestra says. She advises cooking at least one meal a day as a way to get fresh food and also save money compared to ordering or eating out.
Switch protein sources
According to nutritionists, it’s important to enjoy a variety of protein sources such as meat, fish, eggs, and lentils.
Aiming to consume a variety of proteins at each meal is important to reduce the harm of eating too much of one food group.
pour oil
According to Santaliestra, olive oil exists as the main source of healthy fat in the Spanish version of the medical diet.
Olive oil also helps absorb nutrients from foods such as salad leaves, especially when combined with vegetables for flavor.
addicted to nuts
Eat lots of nuts this November and in the coming months. Santaliestra recommends healthy, fatty legumes as a morning to afternoon staple.
It is the dealer’s choice which variety you choose, as long as it is roasted plain or without coating.
vegetables, vegetables, vegetables
Santaliestra emphasized that vegetables are the key to a successful Mediterranean diet. As Mom would say, it’s loaded with fiber, vitamins, minerals, and promotes overall health.
