57-yo Flex Wheeler Inspires With Leg Press Workout Using Prosthetic Leg – Fitness Volt

Flex Wheeler took the bodybuilding world by storm in the 1990s with one of the most aesthetically pleasing physiques ever seen on stage. He went head to head with iconic players during his illustrious career, including his eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman, Kevin Levrone, Sean Ray and Lee Labrada. He didn’t win his trophy Sandow, but Arnold he won the Classic four times.

After leaving professional competition, Wheeler had to contend with a number of health issues. He underwent emergency surgery in 2019. He had complications from surgery that left him with blood clots and kidney failure. Ultimately, Wheeler had to amputate his right leg. A severe case of COVID-19 infection then forced Wheeler to return to the hospital. He also had back surgery in the first half of last year.

In July 2022, Flex underwent rotator cuff surgery in his left shoulder and complained of severe pain. A few days later he was recovering in hospital. Wheeler’s troubles didn’t end there when he discovered that the kidney he had transplanted in 2003 was beginning to show signs of wear and tear damage.

Despite his disability, Wheeler hasn’t lost his passion for bodybuilding. He has teamed up with rising mens his open sensation Andrew Jackd to guide him through the posing sessions ahead of his 2022 Texas Pro. Jacked received some valuable tips from his Wheeler that came in handy at his first pro show.

Wheeler opened up about the mental health issues that arose after having his right leg amputated. He admitted he missed out on Olympian glory due to a lack of spiritual maturity and spoke candidly about his rough upbringing. Wheeler will receive a special Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 Arnold Classic, scheduled for March 2-5.

In a recent Instagram post, flex wheeler He delivered an emotional message to his fans while slamming a single leg press set.

“Life puts obstacles in your path,” he wrote. “It’s up to you to keep moving forward. But you don’t have to walk this path alone!”

“I want to talk a little bit about life’s setbacks and hurdles,” he said. “We’re all given them. As I’ve said many times before, life will give you lemons. It’s your choice to make it sour or sweeten it by making lemonade.” In my 57 years, I have been through a lot, to say the least: I was homeless, raised on welfare, beaten, sexually abused from ages 5-13, and suffered from limited glomerulosclerosis. But I won’t do that, and I won’t allow it to confine me.I will never allow my body to confine me. will continually resist and try to set new goals and boundaries for themselves. Don’t accept no, don’t accept failure, always push back and set goals for yourself, even for yourself.Live life to the fullest.”

Flex Wheeler had to undergo his third shoulder surgery two months ago for a rotator cuff.
