Fruit juices may be healthier than sodas and sugary drinks, but they’re low in fiber.

Fruits are a food group whose health benefits are widely recognized. Similarly, we often hear that fruit juices are a great alternative to sugary sodas and packaged beverages. But are fruit juices really good for your health?

In one of her recent Instagram reels, nutritionist Lovneet Batra shares 5 ways drinking fruit juice is bad for us. According to her, the five negative effects of drinking fruit juice are:

  • higher insulin spike
  • low fiber
  • low nutritional value
  • increase desire
  • high blood sugar load

she wrote: Unfortunately, it doesn’t.

One of the main problems with fruit juices is that they are high in calories and sugar, low in fiber, high in acid, and lacking important nutrients.

When you juice fruit, you lose insoluble fiber, which is an essential nutrient and helps slow the absorption of sugars.

Whole fresh fruit, on the other hand, is rich in fiber. Fiber-rich fruits help you feel full while keeping calories in check. The fiber in fruit may also lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Whole fruit also contains more filling, antioxidants, and about 35% less sugar than 100% fruit juice. “
