Ames, Iowa — Three Iowa State Cyclone football players have pleaded guilty to underage gambling and agreed to a plea bargain in which the other charges were dropped. Lawyers representing Hunter Deckers, Jake Remsberg and Dodge Souther announced the plea deal Wednesday afternoon. All three were initially charged with falsifying records, but the state agreed to drop the charges. The three players will each pay $645 fines.
The plea deal is the first of seven Cyclone football players indicted in a statewide sting operation allegedly targeting athletes in Iowa and Iowa State University. Gilaire Bullock and Isaiah Lee have both exited the Cyclone Football program. Deshawn Hanika is still on the team’s roster. Former Cyclone member Eny Wwazrike was also charged with falsifying records. He is currently a member of the Denver Broncos, but has been suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL’s gambling policy.

This case applies both legally and practically. Hunter, Jake and Dodge are not.

Other than the fact that Hunter, Jake, and Dodge made some bets
