NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WKRN) — Three people traveling to Kentucky from Tennessee and Illinois have been arrested in connection with an illegal drug cartel.
Officials say people are coming to Kentucky from Illinois and Tennessee to hand over counterfeit prescriptions.

Three people have been arrested so far, including Dominic Escamilla, 21, Dion Fisher, 26, and Daniel James Waters, 42.
Tommy Loving, director of the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Control Division, said he gets information primarily from local pharmacies, but there are still connections to be made.
“We think there is a bigger picture here, and we are currently investigating. We’re reaching out to see what we can learn there, but this is a work in progress, and I think there’s probably a bigger picture here, and we’re working with our partners on this case. We’ll see how far we can go,” explained director Tommy Loving.

Loving said their work is never-ending to bring new drugs to market, but they are working with neighboring countries and distant partners to catch and crack down on illegal use.
