The economy remains the top bipartisan issue heading into the new year, according to an open-ended poll that polled Americans on the top five issues the government should address in 2023. Conducted by the Associate Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research in December.
About 30% of Americans say inflation is their top priority, down 40% since June, but about twice as many as last year. problems facing the country.
Republican top priorities for 2023 also included immigration, crime, foreign policy issues, energy, health care and gas prices as pressing issues.
