The Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program hosts its 16th Annual Prechter Lecture.
This year’s talk features keynote speaker, former WNBA star and mental health advocate Chamique Holdsclaw. Holdsclaw will speak on “Mental/Games: The Lifelong Pursuit of Order After Diagnosing Bipolar Disorder.”
It will be held in October. 26 at 6 p.m., BSRB Khan in his auditorium.
Holdsclaw touches on her lifelong mental health struggles and how she came to help others embrace their mental health and well-being and seek help. She also talks about mental health stigma in black and brown communities and sports.
The talk will be followed by a panel discussion focused on research projects from the Prechter Program.
Events include:
- One-on-one interview with Chamique Holdsclaw and NAMI Chief Medical Officer Ken Duckworth, MD
- A panel discussion on bipolar disorder research moderated by Melvin McInnis, MD, director of the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program
- Reception with refreshments after the panel discussion
