Midwives in New York administered approximately 12,500 fake homeopathic pellets to approximately 1,500 children instead of providing standard, life-saving vaccines. The New York State Department of Health reported yesterday.
Janet Breen, a certified midwife who runs Baldwin Midwifery Clinic in Nassau County, said the 2019-2020 Around the beginning of the school year, we began offering oral pellets to the children. She obtained the pellets from a homeopath in suburban New York and sold them as a series called the “Real Immunity Homeoprophylaxis Program.”
The program falsely claimed to protect children from deadly infections covered by standard vaccination schedules, including diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (covered by the DTaP or Tdap vaccine). Hepatitis B; measles, mumps, rubella (MMR vaccine). Polio. Chickenpox; meningococcal disease; haemophilus Influenza disease (HiB); and pneumococcal disease (PCV).
Homeopathy is a pseudoscience that falsely claims that medical conditions can be cured or prevented by ritually diluting toxic substances to such an extent that when directly administered they cause the same symptoms as a particular disease or condition. Homeopathic products are often diluted to the point that they contain not a single atom of the original substance. Some homeopaths claim that water molecules have a “memory” of contact with substances and can be magically imbued with healing powers. Homeopathic products are no more effective than a placebo, but improperly diluted can be harmful or even fatal.
In 2022, federal authorities sentenced a California homeopath to nearly three years in prison for selling fake COVID-19 vaccination pellets and falsifying COVID-19 vaccination records. In New York, Breen's plan began before the pandemic and did not include COVID-19 pellets, potentially avoiding the attention of federal regulators.
The New York State Department of Health has removed all false vaccination records for Breen's 1,500 children and is contacting the children's parents and affected schools. Most of the children are from Long Island, but some live as far away as Erie County. Approximately 300 schools will be affected. Children will not be allowed to attend school until parents provide proof of compliance with immunization requirements.
Meanwhile, the state fined Breen and agreed to a settlement order that permanently bars him from providing vaccinations and accessing the New York State Immunization Information System, the state's vaccine records system. The state fine was $300,000. Breen paid $150,000 and the state suspended his remaining leave of absence on the condition that he continue to comply with state orders.
“Misrepresentation or falsification of vaccine records puts lives at risk and undermines the systems that exist to protect public health,” state Health Commissioner James McDonald said in a statement. “To be clear, the New York State Department of Health takes this matter seriously and intends to investigate and use all enforcement tools at its disposal against anyone found to have committed such violations. .”
