A woman was killed and two others were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a crash occurred in Yellow Medicine County around 7:30 pm Friday.
A Minnesota State Patrol report released Saturday afternoon said the vehicle and truck were traveling in the opposite direction on Highway 75 near 190th Street in Norman Township when they collided.
Hendrix’s Maria Hanson, 32, the driver and sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.
Two Canby truck passengers, 42-year-old Stephen and Sarah Bednarek, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Both truck occupants were wearing seat belts. According to reports, Hanson was not wearing a seatbelt.
Alcohol is said to have been a factor in the crash. The state patrol did not say whether the weather was a factor, but the road was wet at the time.
